Like Pinot Blanc, the Pinot Gris grapes come from lime/loessial soils in the southern Palatinate. On the nose, it initially takes on a very reduced, red spiced, earthy, deep, and firm quality. On the palate, it becomes a rather classic Pinot Gris, which is slightly sweet, lustrous, and marries a powerful flavour with a very delicate acidity. We do not want to fulfil classic German expectations with our Pinot Gris. This is more than just a trend to us and that is why we would like to preserve the natural aroma structure. In our opinion, this is the best thing about this grape variety.
