Our coolest vineyard; red and yellow sandstone in a small, slight side valley right between Mäushöhle and Petershöhle. Almost always shaded. This gives the grapes a very high acidity, which forces us to macerate them almost every year. Home to one of the most typical wines of the Palatinate: juicy, vivacious, vigorous, and spicy. Clay towards clayey sand, with boulders in places, sandy shades, and limestone combined with a moderate, mild climate—ideal for Riesling’s very particular needs.
